What Hermes Meshy costs
Most Meshy tools spend credits — between 5 and 62 per call depending on the job. The plugin builds in three safety nets:
- Approval before spending. Hermes asks before every call that creates or downloads, showing the estimated cost (for example, “Costs about 5–25 credits”) and what the chat has spent so far.
- A 200-credit limit per chat. Once a chat would go past it, Hermes asks again, even if you’ve turned the prompts off.
- No surprise spending on autopilot. Unattended runs such as cron jobs can’t approve, so paid calls are refused there.
Free jobs run without a prompt — checking your balance, task status, the animation library and slicer detection.
Hermes Desktop: 3D cards and the gallery
Switch on the plugin’s Desktop toggle in Capabilities → Plugins and models appear in the chat as 3D cards. Click to spin, zoom, show the wireframe or a size grid. While a job runs, the card shows progress such as “Meshy 38% · previewing”.
Each card has a download menu listing every file type Meshy made: GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL and USDZ for a finished model. STL is the one 3D printers love, and USDZ is what iPhones use to show 3D in your room. Saving these is free. Converting to a missing format costs credits.
Then there’s the gallery. Every model gets a Made from history: the prompt, settings, seed, credits and the chain of steps — photo, rebuilt, rigged, animated. You can copy the prompt back into the chat and make it again. The hardest part of making anything good is remembering how you made the last one, and the gallery remembers for you.
3D printing with Hermes Meshy
Printing is the biggest group of tools, because a model can look perfect on screen and still fail on the printer: a wall too thin, or a part floating with nothing under it. Hermes can check how printable a model is, fix weak spots, save multicolour 3MF files, cut a big model into parts that fit your printer and send it straight to your slicer.
