Grok Bot for marketing is about handing a Bot the repeatable parts of marketing: checking campaigns, drafting updates, building report pages and making images. xAI’s use-case guide includes a “Paid media” role that owns campaign monitoring and budget recommendations, and the files and results docs cover the pages, images and short clips a Bot can make. Below is the setup, the prompts, and where approval should stay on. My video is right under this intro.

Key takeaways

  • xAI’s paid media role: campaign monitoring and budget recommendations.
  • Its suggested prompt drafts a Slack update but doesn’t change budgets or send it.
  • Bots build pages: reports and dashboards with tables, charts and filters.
  • Bots make images and 1–15 second video clips when you ask.

What a marketing Bot does

Think of it as a marketing assistant that works from its own screen on your Bots’ shared cloud computer. The useful jobs split three ways:

  • Monitoring: pull spend and performance and compare it with your plan.
  • Reporting: turn the numbers into a page your team can read.
  • Creative: draft posts, images and short clips for you to approve.

Campaign checks: the paid media Bot

For the paid media role, xAI says to connect your advertising platforms, analytics, budget spreadsheet and Slack. Its starter prompt:

Pull current spend and performance by campaign. Compare it with the monthly
budget and target customer acquisition cost, then recommend reallocations
with the supporting numbers. Draft a Slack update for the growth team. Do not
change budgets or send the message.

xAI’s advice: keep campaign changes behind approval even after the analysis becomes a routine.

Report pages your team can open

A page is something a Bot builds for you to read: a report, memo, dashboard, tracker or explainer. It can hold text, tables, charts and controls like filters and switches, and it lives in the Bot’s Library so you can share it.

Example prompt: “Build a page with last week’s campaign results by channel, a chart of daily spend, and a filter for each campaign.”

Pages is rolling out gradually and isn’t on Enterprise teams yet. The docs say you need version 0.60.0 or later on desktop and 1.14.0 or later on your phone.

Images and short video clips

The files and results docs say a Bot creates images and clips only when you ask:

Output What the docs say
Images Square, wide or tall: 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9 or 9:16
Video clips 1 to 15 seconds, 6 by default, 480p unless you ask for 720p
From your images One image as the first frame, or a start and end frame
Not for Charts, title cards, app demos or exact brand text

For charts and tables, ask for a page instead. Naming trademarked brands or real people can get a request blocked, so describe the scene in your own words.

Weekly marketing routines

The skills and routines docs let a Bot run on a schedule or on an event:

  • “Every Monday at 9:00 AM, build last week’s campaign page and post the link in #marketing.”
  • A Slack phrase in one channel can start a routine. Keep the channel and phrase narrow.
  • Press Test before you rely on it; a test run does real work.

Save your report format as a skill first, so every week looks the same.

Keep publishing behind approval

The approvals docs name publishing content and sending messages as actions to set clear boundaries for. Their own example: “Reconcile the campaign data and draft a recommended budget change. Do not change the campaign or message the agency.”

  • Let the Bot draft posts, never publish them on its own.
  • Have it show current value, proposed value and expected impact before any budget change.
  • Use Allow once for one-off actions instead of Always allow.

My verdict

Start with the paid media prompt and a weekly report page, then add images for your posts. Keep budgets and publishing behind approval. That’s a simple, safe start with Grok Bot for marketing.
