I tested GPT 5.2 live for real business tasks.

Not theory. Not benchmarks. Real-world workflows that solopreneurs, agencies, and creators use every day.

And here’s the truth:

GPT 5.2 isn’t AGI.

It isn’t even better than GPT-4.

In fact, in multiple tests, it lost to Claude and Gemini—and sometimes even GPT-4.

Let me break it down for you.

GPT 5.2 Update vs Reality

The GPT 5.2 update claims to set a new state-of-the-art across benchmarks.

It promises smarter reasoning, better code, and human-level performance.

But when you actually use it for business tasks, the story changes.

Benchmarks don’t run your agency. Real projects do.

So I tested GPT 5.2 against Claude Opus 4.5 and Gemini 3.0 on three tasks:

  • Coding a PS5 controller in HTML
  • Writing an SEO article for the keyword SEO Training in Japan
  • Building a landing page for Goldie Agency

Here’s what really happened.

GPT 5.2 vs Gemini vs Claude: Coding Test

First, I ran a simple HTML test: Code a PS5 controller in HTML.

Claude and Gemini both nailed it.

Claude’s version worked beautifully—all buttons clickable, analog sticks functional.

Gemini’s design was clean, structured, and logical.

GPT 5.2? A total mess.

Buttons didn’t work. Layout was broken. The analog stick sat in the middle of the screen like a lost emoji.

For context—this is the most hyped model OpenAI has ever released.

Yet it failed a basic HTML test that older models passed.

GPT 5.2 Update: Writing Test

Next, I tested GPT 5.2 for SEO writing—my bread and butter.

Prompt: Create an article about SEO Training in Japan.

Claude understood instantly.

It produced a complete, well-formatted, keyword-optimized article. Beautiful headings, bolded keywords, natural flow, and clean readability.

Gemini wrote a direct-response piece with curiosity-driven hooks and smart formatting.

GPT 5.2? It wrote a question in the headline—but forgot to add a question mark.

That’s right.

The so-called smartest model on the planet forgot basic punctuation.

The content read flat, robotic, and strangely lifeless—like it was trying to sound human but forgot how humans talk.

No bullet points. No rhythm. No spark.

Just gray text.

GPT 5.2 Update: Landing Page Test

This is where things got serious.

Prompt: Create a modern landing page for my SEO Agency (Goldie Agency) with direct response copy and a CTA to book a free SEO strategy session.

Claude built an actual landing page.

Gemini built one too—complete with layout, colors, and structure.

GPT 5.2? Just text.

No layout. No design. No HTML.

I had to tell it to code.

Let that sink in.

Claude and Gemini understood my intent instantly.

GPT 5.2 didn’t.

When I finally told it to code, the design looked like a 2004 web template. Unaligned, cluttered, and frustrating to read.

If your AI doesn’t understand user intent in 2025, that’s not an upgrade. That’s regression.

GPT 5.2 Benchmarks Are Overrated

OpenAI says GPT 5.2 dominates benchmarks.

But here’s the truth:

Benchmarks don’t run your business.

Performance on real-world workflows does.

From everything I tested—GPT 5.2 feels like a downgrade in usability and intuition.

It struggles to interpret intent.

It over-explains instead of executing.

And compared to Claude or Gemini, it feels like you’re talking to a less curious version of ChatGPT-4.

The Real Winners: Claude and Gemini

Claude Opus 4.5 is miles ahead in writing and structure.

Gemini 3.0 dominates in coding, visual reasoning, and execution.

When you combine them—you get a true business workflow system that saves hours.

So, while everyone hypes up GPT 5.2 as AGI, I’m over here using Gemini for build workflows and Claude for client deliverables.

That combo wins.

GPT 5.2 Update: Should You Upgrade?

Let’s be honest.

I paid $200 for the upgrade just to test this.

If you’re already on GPT-4 or Claude—don’t bother.

You’re not missing much.

Even ChatGPT’s interface feels clunkier now.

It defaults back to 5.2 when you switch to legacy models, and you can’t set 4.0 as default.

That’s not innovation. That’s friction.

Free GPT 5.2 Access (Workaround)

If you still want to test GPT 5.2 without paying, here’s the workaround:

Go to GenSpark.ai → Create a new chat → Select AI Chat → Choose GPT 5.2.

You can use it free there.

Or, if you want API access, go to OpenRouter.ai/models.

That’s where GPT 5.2 and GPT 5.2 Pro are available for testing in compatible apps like RooCode or KiloCode.

What This Means for You

If you’re an entrepreneur or marketer, here’s the bottom line:

  • Claude wins for writing, formatting, and business reasoning.
  • Gemini wins for coding, building, and automation.
  • GPT 5.2 feels like a regression—not an evolution.

Stop waiting for AGI.

Start using the tools that actually move your business forward.
