📋 What You Need
- ✅ A Mac (or Linux) computer
- ✅ Your Kimi Code API key (it only shows once)
- ✅ 10 minutes
⚠️ Important: API keys are passwords. Don’t paste them into public chats.
Step 1: Get Your Kimi Code API Key
1. Go to Kimi Code:

2. Click Get your plan
3. Then click Get your own api key
4. Copy your API key
⚠️ You will only see this key one time. Save it somewhere safe.
Step 2: Install Moltbot / Clawdbot (Quick Start)
If you already have Clawdbot installed, skip to Step 3.
1. Open Terminal
2. Run this command:
curl -fsSL https://molt.bot/install.sh | bash
3. Wait for it to finish
✅ When the setup screen appears, you can start configuring your assistant.
Step 3: Open the Clawdbot Setup Screen
You’ll see a setup flow (onboarding).

1. In the setup screen, find the part that asks for your Kimi Code API key
2. Paste the key

Step 5: Select the Kimi Model
1. When asked for a model, choose:
- kimi-code/kimi-for-coding

Step 6: Keep Your Main Model (Codex) as the Boss

You want:
- Main agent = Codex (or your current main model)
- Subagents = Kimi
So your assistant stays consistent… but your helpers are fast.

- Big decisions → main model
- Side quests → Kimi
Step 7: Channel setup (Optional)
Clawdbot may ask about channels like Telegram or Discord.
If you don’t want to set that up right now:

You can always add channels later.
