These days, page speed is so important to users because faster pages are more efficient and provide a much better on-page user experience.
A slow website will cause your visitors to click away and go somewhere else for the information.
This means you miss out on sales, revenue and look bad in the eyes of Google.
With Google’s new core web vitals updates and their effect on website rankings, optimizing your website’s speed is more important than ever.
That’s why I’m going to teach you exactly how I increased my website’s page speed optimization from a measly 16 to 93 in the space of a few minutes and exactly how you can too.
Alright, let’s get started.
What Is NitroPack?
NitroPack is an optimization service that offers a wide range of benefits. In addition to being lightning-fast, it combines everything you need for a successful website.
NitroPack offers image optimization, code minification, caching, CDN, and lazy loading.
How To Install NitroPack In WordPress
The first thing you’re going to do is navigate to a new plugin and install NitroPack on WordPress.
Although NitroPack does cost a little bit, I would say the results are worth it.
However, if you have a small site that’s getting five thousand page views per month or even less, then it’s actually free to use.
Once you’ve found the plugin, go ahead and install it, then activate it.
Now if you want an idea of what NitroPack can do for your site before installing it, you can actually test it out first.
Head on over to the NitroPack website and type in your website URL, and run a test. It will then show you some stats around what the plugin could do for your website.
Before And After NitroPack
To give you an example, let’s take this website, “Relax Like A Boss,” and run it through the test.
As you’ll see, it’s going to analyze the site, and once it does, it’s going to give you an estimate of what the increased site speeds up after you’ve installed it to your website.
Check out NitroPack’s estimated before and after scores below.
So for the website Relax Like A Boss, you can see that before NitroPack, the score was 72 and after they estimate that 92 is possible.
Now on this particular blog, it will be a bit slower because the website is running Mediavine ads.
But it gives you a general idea of how quick and easy this is to install and the immediate effect.
So, literally within a few hours of you installing this plugin, it will boost your website speed.
When you’re doing this, you need to take it with a grain of salt because it’s not going to be 100 percent accurate.
Obviously, this is NitroPack’s marketing tool, so they will naturally want to reel you in and give you a slightly higher estimate.
But at the same time, it will give you a general idea of what could be possible for the website.
Google Page Speed Optimization
Let me show you an example using my website after I’ve installed Nitropack.
So, over at Google Page Speed Insights, I’ll type in my website Juliangoldie.com and run the test.
As you can see, this site has a decent mobile score and desktop score.
This will change, though. Sometimes, this will be 91, depending on how many instances you check.
Again, it gives you a general idea.
NitroPack will also improve parts of your core web vitals score, which is an important ranking factor.
Without NitroPack
Let’s test the results without Nitro so you can get a better understanding of its potential.
To do this, I’ll run another test but tell Google not to pick up NitroPack to see our previous score.
So I’ll type my URL followed by /?nonitro, then click analyze.
Once it’s loaded, you can see that without Nitro, this website is a measly 16 score.
That’s a really bad mobile score and some pretty alarming statistics. It pretty much fails for everything.
You can see all these red results below.
NitroPack is just like a cheat code for quickly improving your website speed.
If we check the desktop score, it’s 35, which is slightly better, but most things are in red.
Why Site Speed Matters
The problem is if you have failing metrics for your website, just like mine used to before I install Nitro Pack, then this will hurt your site’s rankings.
This is because Google uses site speed as a ranking factor for your website.
If all things are equal, and your competitors have a better site speed than yours, then they’re going to outrank you.
So it’s a competitive advantage.
Now, you can optimize your website speed manually, but that will take you a few hours, or if you hire an agency, it will cost you a few thousand dollars.
Whereas you can just quickly install NitroPack in two minutes, a few hours to optimize, and once you’re done, you’ve done.
I highly recommend it.
As you can see, I’ve run another test with Nitropack back on, and the website is now up to 90.
In Summary
NitroPack is a quick and easy way to optimize your website and increase your page speed optimization.
This has a huge effect on your Google rankings.
Remember, if all things are equal between two websites, Google will favor the one that loads faster, giving the reader a better experience.
