The Skyscraper strategy will focus on creating content that is more in-depth and useful than anything else.
That said, you can’t simply pick a random topic and write a great article around it. Expect it to generate thousands of backlinks.
You have to select topics in your niche that are known to be backlink magnets. One example is popular topics that everyone wants to link to.
Ahrefs is one of the fastest ways to find linkable, popular content in your niche. The process is easy, and here is how to go about it:

-First, find a high domain authority (DA) blog in your niche that tends to get lots of backlinks.
-Then, pop the site’s URL into Ahrefs
-Next, click on the “Top Pages” button on the left sidebar
-Afterwards, look for content with at least 25 referring domains (RD) linking to them
-Those are the types of content we call link-worthy
Here is an example of what you will see if you follow the process:
Repeat this process for 5 to 7 popular sites in your niche to get a bunch of topic ideas
Your next task will be to write your in-depth article.
You can make your article stand out by making it longer, more up-to-date and lastly, adding more media. (such as videos, images, or infographics.)
And if you want, you can use Ahrefs to dig further and to see who’s linking to this kind of content on competitor pages.
After all, you have to contact the people linking to your competitors and ask them if they’d consider linking to your website as well.
Here is an example of how I used the skyscraper strategy to grow the traffic of my affiliate site-ChipperBirds.com. As you can see, it went from zero to 163,000 pageviews in less than 1 year of link building.
Focusing on the skyscraper link building method, we reverse-engineered the long-form articles on the site that covered linkable topics.
Traffic grew from roughly 3,000 organic visitors a month to 6,000+ in just 4 months.

As an affiliate blogger, guest posts are one of the most effective ways to build a reputation, authority, and backlinks.
If you want to get a shot at guest blogging on top publications, you must have at least one guest post published on your site because you will need this to give editors an example of your writing style and quality.
So, just in case you have never guest blogged before, I recommend you to write the best posts and get them published on a known site.
It doesn’t have to be a top authority site, just something people would recognize.

Strategy 3: HARO ( Help A Reporter Out)
HARO is a platform that connects journalists with people who can act as expert sources for their articles.
Because this platform is very useful regardless of what niche you work in. There are opportunities to share all types of expertise and insight.
You can’t put all your eggs in the HARO basket and there is no guarantee you will get picked as a source.
I would also recommend testing it out to see if it’s worth your time and respond to at least 10 relevant queries and calculate your success rate.
If none of your responses gets published, it means that HARO isn’t for you, and you can return to other link-building strategies.

Strategy 4: Populate Your Affiliate Website with Visual Content that’s Shareable
As a rule, affiliate marketers are limited in terms of the types of content they may create, post product overviews, comparisons, plus tips, tricks, and how-tos.
Therefore, you will need to add visual forms like infographics and videos in order to keep your readers engaged and boost backlinks at the same time.
Infographics are cheaper and easier to create. With basic designer skills, you can create attractive infographics to break up the dull wall of text on your site.
These visual aids make things easier for your website visitors, and there are great chances that other website owners would like to share this opportunity with their visitors as well. Providing you with organic backlinks.
