How To 4X Your Traffic!
Tip #1: Publish Content Consistently
Make sure that you’re consistent when it comes to publishing content on your site.
For example:
Last year I’d only post like once every month or once every two months.
But this really isn’t enough content.
Look at the screenshot below – I was getting just 200-300 visits to my blog p/day:
As soon as I started publishing more often in August and September, the traffic flew up!
If you want to quadruple your traffic, then you need more content too.
And that’s why I recommend hitting the publish button as often as you possibly can.
I went from 1-2 posts a month, to publishing 5 articles per week.
And yet still, I didn’t feel like it was enough if I really wanted to scale up!
That’s why I recommend just publishing as much content as you can.
But keep the content quality high too.
Google won’t drive traffic to your site straight away.
And you’re not going to rank number 1 on the first day you publish it.
It could be 3, 6, or even 9 months before you see any traffic to your site.
So that’s why I recommend publishing as early as you can.
Because eventually you’ll see the compound effect as you publish more and more content.
Tip #2: Build Backlinks
Building backlinks is one of the most important ranking factors for your site.
(Whenever you click from one site to another site, that’s essentially a backlink.)
Why?
Well backlinks are like votes from other sites to say that your content is good.
It’s as simple as that.
Now, Google states that backlinks are like a voting system:
So, the more votes you get, the higher your content is going to rank on Google.
In fact, Google have stated that this is one of the most important ranking factors.
They have over 200 ranking factors, and backlinks are one of the top ones.
So it’s really important to build backlinks to your site, if you haven’t already done this.
Since I started building backlinks to my site, my traffic has just increased exponentially.
There’s a clear correlation between building backlinks and the growth in traffic on my site:
You need to build backlinks if you want to
- Scale up
- Land more traffic
- Rank higher on Google
And if you don’t, your competitors will.
So that’s why it’s important to start link building as early as possible.

Tip #3: Nail Your Keyword Research
Before hitting the publish button on your site, nail your keyword research.
How?
Find low competition, high volume keywords that you can easily rank your site for.
If you fail on your keyword research, you won’t rank.
This video tutorial on keyword research will help you:
You have to be very careful with the keyword strategy you’re using.
But, there’s a ton of keyword opportunities if you know how to find them.

Why Keyword Click-Through Rates Matter
For keyword research, always check the click through rate of a keyword.
Why?
Because, some keywords have a ton of searches, but most people don’t click the top results on Google.
That’s because Google introduced:
- Featured snippets
- Video carousels
- And pictures into their search results
So there’s less real estate than ever on the first page of Google.
You have to be very targeted about the keywords that you go after:
Make sure that you’re finding KWs with a high click through rate.
Otherwise, you may rank for the keyword, but get ZERO clicks to your site.
Tip #4: Outsource Everything You Can
Make sure that you outsource as much as possible.
This is the key to scaling up!
You simply don’t have the time and energy to do it all yourself.
(Especially if you’ve got other projects running in the background.)
That’s why I recommend outsourcing as much as possible.
If there’s a task you don’t need to do, outsource it straight away.
Outsourcing gives you more time, freedom, and energy to work on other projects.
And most of the technical SEO admin is very easy to outsource.
Plus your time is best spent working on more proactive tasks:
Rather than just focusing on the technical implementation of your site.
But don’t just go out there and hire any team…
Make sure you hire someone who’s capable and competent.
Give them a few test tasks and make sure that they can actually do the job properly.
As soon as you get a good team, you’ll be able to scale up way quicker.
Currently, I have 10 writers on my team.
That saves me a lot of hours in writing.
I also have a virtual assistant that manages all those writers.
This system:
- Saves me hundreds of hours every single week
- Allows me to scale up quicker
- Plus I can focus my energy on other projects
Tip #5: Don’t Let Your Content Quality Slip
Be very careful about complacency and focus on content quality.
When it comes to SEO, your content is your business.
Standards can drop quickly if you’re pumping out as much content as possible.
But there’s no point doing that if the quality isn’t there.
Before publishing, check that your content:
- Answers the user’s problem
- Is actually useful/unique
- Make it actionable and engaging
- Create a more comprehensive guide than your competitors
It doesn’t matter how much content you publish:
Your content must be better than your competitors.
Google rates on page metrics highly in their algorithm.
So if your content quality is poor, and people bounce off, then your rankings are will slip too.
I actually use Surfer SEO for checking content quality:
Tip #6: Be Very Organized
Make sure that you’re extremely organized with your SEO projects.
…Because there’s a lot of moving parts.
And if you’re not careful, they’ll drain all your time.
Instead, have the processes in place to make sure that you know exactly:
- Which projects you’re working on
- The workload for each project
- The deadline for each task
- Who on your team is working on them
You’re leading your website, so you have to ensure it’s moving in the right direction.
If you want to scale your website, you have to be extremely organized.
What I recommend is using management tools like Trello.
This makes managing your team and processes far easier.
In Conclusion
Now you know my blueprint for quadrupling the traffic on your site.
There’s no secret here – and no crazy hack to boost your Google rankings overnight!
SEO just requires keyword research, good content and backlinks.
When you have a strong team and a good process in place, you’ll quickly scale up your site.
